Renewed look at Hotel W Barcelona

The shape from the iconic and emblematic hotel W Barcelona has renewed it looks with a powerful changing colour perimeter.
Since it was open in 2009, W Barcelona has become a symbol of the city skyline with its characteristic form of a sail on the Mediterranean. On the 24th of December the hotel surprise us with a new changing color façade, until then just in white.
To light up the perimeter, Grupo MCI provided a total of 850 meters of SmartLedFlex® RGB (85,000 LEDs) that provide a high performance homogenous light all around the building.
From now on, the silhouette of the hotel will be able to shine in a different colors and lighting scenes. A large project with an important component of innovation since the installation can be controlled independently by timers, manually or scheduled events (including through a smartphone or tablet thanks to a radial fiber optic network).
SmartLedFlex® is a flexible linear lighting product for both indoor and outdoor (IP66) applications. It is perfect for architectural illumination that provides a high performance homogenous light without visible dots to highlight the perimeters and outlines of buildings, bridges, etc.
SmartLedFlex® has 100 LEDs/m. SMD Nichia Side View enclosed in special flexible polymer material, which allow the product to be bent into different winding shapes and the product is protected against UV rays and salinity thanks to the silicone outer shell.
